ILLUMOO ATTENDS THE SEAF INVESTOR FORUM IN MILAN, MARCH 8TH 2017

The SEAF Investor Forum represents the development of a community of ESCOs and investors dedicated to making energy efficiency the new normal across Europe.
The Forum will encourage interactive discussion on key issues surrounding investment in energy efficiency projects, including an assessment of available financing options.
Within this context, the SEAF IT Platform, which values and matches projects to finance, will be unveiled as a market-ready solution to bridge the finance gap in the energy efficiency industry. The SEAF Investor Forum is an interactive event that aims to develop a community of ESCOs and financiers dedicated to making energy efficiency the new normal across Europe. The event will provide a forum in which investors and contractors can learn from each other to foster future cooperation and investment.
The discussion will concentrate on financial terms and concepts that have the potential to open new avenues of project finance to ESCOs and facilitate communication with investors. In particular, investors will discuss the difference between bank loans and private funds, and the importance of SPV, standardised processes and contracts. Within this context, the IT Platform developed by the SEAF Consortium will be unveiled as a “market ready” solution that connects small energy efficiency projects to finance. Attendees will have the opportunity to test the Platform and interact with its developers.

SEAF - the Sustainable Energy Asset Framework - an EU funded project under the Horizon 2020 Programme - that aims to bridge the gap between contractors and investors in Sustainable Energy Assets (SEA) through the development of a streamlined IT platform. The platform includes independent project valuation, insurance risk assessment, and the Investor Confidence Project’s standard project protocols. This will empower SMEs and other companies to receive financing and implement SEA technology.
